| Biography Amateur radio has been my principle hobby since 1966 when at the age of 14, I was introduced to the airwaves via Nevin P. Otis, W6MXL (now silent key). I will always be grateful for his kind assistance and interest in promoting this international fraternity of radio enthusiasts. Ham radio "moved" with me through High School (Needham, MA), college years (Class of '74 at Colgate University Hamilton NY) and graduate school (Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management Class of 1976). As a marketing manager, I have remained "mobile" -- working for Gillette Personal Care Division, (Boston, MA) Johnson & Johnson Personal Products, (Milltown, NJ), Shulton Toiletries (Wayne, NJ), Alberto Culver (Chicago, IL), Maybelline Cosmetics (Memphis, TN), Beatrice Meats - Swift/Eckrich (Chicago, IL), Land O Lakes (Arden Hills, MN), Bongrain North America Field Packing Co. (Owensboro, KY) where I served as Vice President of Marketing. In 1999, I organized First Coast Hospitality Group, a seafood restaurant company DBA Johnny Leverock's Seafood House-Jacksonville, Florida. Most recently, I served as Vice President of Marketing for Marietta Corporation. Carol, my XYL (KA9SOF) and Flower our miniature schnauzer (K9DOG) complete my family. She is an occasional "ham radio" author. Look for the June, 1999 issue of 73 Magazine (Cover Story). We enjoy travel to other countries and the opportunity to meet other amateur radio families. I am active in several modes including: SSTV, ATV, SSB, FM and Satellite Communications. Internet activity has also been a part of our communication interests as well. Other hobbies include a small collection of antique phonographs: 1908 Victor Talking Machine, 1923 Victor Victrola model 125 and a 1921 Sears Cecilian model. I have about 300 records representing the popular music of the accoustic era ranging from 1909 - 1929. I enjoy playing these recordings at local nursing homes. Most recently, I have been slowly restoring a 1928 Ford Model A Sport Coupe. Worked DXCCs: Equipment Kenwood TS990s | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
