Biography

I began my journey back in 1987/88 ... at the time i never managed to get the CW stuff to click in my head so i abandoned the journey and took a different road which led me to Computers and Electronics a different way. I joined the US Navy in July 1989 and became a Data System Tech (DS-1681) and was designated as an FFG-7 Class display Equipment Maintenance Tech. After my time in the Navy i went to work for this small Cell Company called NeXTEL as a Unix Systems Admin/Engineer. Which began my 27 year career as the aforementioned Unix Systems Admin/Engineer and later Unix/Linux Systems Architect.

I have since transition to Cyber Security and mainly specialized in ISO 27001 & NIST 800-53 Auditing, GRC (Governance Risk and Compliance) but I occasionally do API evaluations for system to system connectivity.

I have been heavy into SBC (Single Board Computers) since the Raspberry Pi Model B which was released in 2012. I dabble with several other SBC's including rhe Orange Pi's. ASUS Tinker boards, Radxa Rock Pi based boards and of course all the ESP32 and ESP-8266 microcontroller based boards.

I just recently upgraded to General now working towards Extra.

I mostly do FT8/FT4
