Biography
My QTH is located on top of a small ridge overlooking Big Ridge State Park in Eastern Tennessee about 20 miles north of Knoxville.
The main rig is a Flex 5000A using a Heil PR40 mic and Vibroplex Iambic Deluxe paddles. My amp is a homebrew 4-1000A that I built back in 1987.
On AM I run a Heathkit DX-100 that I have made some audio upgrades to. I use a Heil Heritage mic and a Behringer Ultra-Voice audio processor on the DX-100. The receiver is a National NC-303.
Also, I just upgraded my Harvey Wells TBS-50D, with the matching VFO and homebrew power supply.
Antennas are a Hygain Hy-Tower vertical with 129 ground radials, (approx 8000 ft of #16 copper wire), and a Mosley Pro-57B at 55 feet on a Tri-Ex LM-354HD crankup tower.
The XYL and I love to ride my Heritage Softail Classic in the mountains.
