Biography
My proper name is Marlin, but I prefer my nickname "Loon". I was originally licensed in March 2009 as KB3SLP. In June 2009 I upgraded to General class and obtained my vanity call of W3MAT, then in January of 2010 I achieved my goal of obtaining my Extra class. I am active on most bands, except 160M (antenna's are not long enough).
My favorite mode is digital, primarily BPSK-31. I can be found on the waterfall most weekdays between 13:00-19:00 UTC, most commonly on 10, 15, and 20 meters, but on occasion can be found on 12 or 17. I do enjoy working DX on SSB phone and chasing the current satellites AO-27 and SO-50. Locally I can be found on 2 meters, 146.985 (no PL) or 146.625 (PL 110.9).
