Biography
Originally licensed 1958 as KN5QFO (novice lic.), then K5QFO, San Antonio, Texas.
Operated portable briefly from New Jersey, and as operator of KL7FBI (Shemya Island, Alaska) in 1959-1960.
W3DCT callsign assigned in 1965, upon relocation to Pa.
Have logged more than 7000 QSOs, including 287 DX entities. (does not include contacts made from KL7FBI, Shemya Island, Aleutian island chain, Alaska (1959-1960).
Most interesting contacts were with VR6TC Tom Christian on Pitcairn island, when he was only licensed operator on island.
Currently living in 55+ development and thus antennas are limited. QSL via Bureau or Direct.
Served in USAF (AF Security Services - Hdqrs San Antonio) from 1954 - 1965. Served in Misawa, Japan; Shemya, Alaska; and San Antonio, Texas.
While stationed at San Antonio, also taught at San Antonio College, and programmed IBM 1401 computers at Southwest Bell Telephone. Military duties included Intelligence Analyst, 20270 (1954-60) and Computer Programmer, 68770 (1961-65).
Discharged from military in 1965 as T/Sgt.
Employed by Univac (became Sperry Computer Systems, then UNISYS) as Programmer, Program Manager, etc. from 1965 to 1996.
Worked in System Software Development: Operating Systems (OS/4, OS/7, OS/3), COBOL Compilers, Transaction and DataBase Management Systems (IMS/90, DMS/90); Communications Interchange; and UNIX & PC communications software. Member of national CODASYL committee, (development committee for COBOL programming language). Program manager in CTOS/BTOS workstation systems and Navigator Financial Software.
Retired in 1996. Now spend all my time helping friends with PCs, using PCs, Golf, and of course Ham Radio. Member of ARRL, Pottstown Area Amateur Radio Club (PAARC), and Telford Area Repeater Asso. (TARA).

and several scanners; antennas are long wire and 2 band VHF/UHF J-pole in attic.
