Some things about me .... trivial or other wise
As station operator Gus , I have been continuously active on HF since the late 1970s and like CW, Contesting , Dxing and the occasional Ragchew. A significant part of my hobby activity has been devoted to building , designing and on air testing of my HF antenna systems.
As a sometime dxpeditionner I have also operated as VO2CQ -Zone 2 , FP/VO1MP , VP9/VO1MP, W4/VO1MP, G0/VO1MP, CY9CF, VO1XX, J79MP, VO1MP/VE7, J75A. My other Canadian Calls are VO1XX and VO2CQ.
I have also been involved in local Amateur Affairs both Administratively and with Emergency Communications as :
A Past President of SONRA - The Society of Newfounland Radio Amateurs
Founding and Past President of AVRAC - Avalon Radio Amateur Club , Providing Emergency Volunteer Communications for The Canadian Red Cross.
