Biography

I live on a 5 acre property at Ashbourne on the Fleurieu Peninsula, about 63 km south of the city of Adelaide.

First licensed in July 2010 with the Foundation call sign of VK5FPAS. I upgraded 12 months later in July 2011, to the Standard call sign of VK5PAS.

I also operate as AX5PAS on special occasions:- Australia Day January 26th each year; Anzac Day 25th April each year; & World Telecommunications Day May 17th each year.

I enjoy DXing, Contesting, & chasing Awards. I also enjoy a good "rag chew" and learning about different countries and their cultures.

I have operated as VK9PAS Norfolk Island OC-005.

I am also a very active 'portable' operator in parks and on summits.

I am the Awards Manager for the VK5 National and Conservation Parks Award.

I am also the Australian co-ordinator for the World Wide Flora Fauna (WWFF) program.

I am an official card checker for ARRL awards (including DXCC) and CQ Awards.

I am a former Director on the Board of Directors with the Wireless Institute of Australia (WIA).
