| Biography The callsign VE3SUB was issued in Feb. 1991. I started out as an SWL, played around on 11m, and moved into Amateur Radio. I fell in love with listening to signals from as close as a mile away to several thousand miles away. I also like to experiment with antennas mounted low to the ground. I started out using a Kenwood crystal controlled 2m HT and a Yaesu FT-690R II for 6m. The Icom IC-730 was my first experience with an HF rig. I was licenced for 80m so up went a sloper off the 50' tower. I would check into to the ONTARS Net on 3.755 MHz.I enjoy receiving QSL cards and LoTW. Worked DXCCs: Equipment Yaesu FT-920 with matching SP-8, FRG-8800. Icom IC-2200H DStar, IC-T70A and IC-R100. KENWOOD TK-941. Antennas: M2 6M5X, 40/80m inverted V, Shakespeare vertical, Diamond X-200, Discone. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
