Biography

Hi!

My full name is David Martin Francis, though those who know me call me Martin.

I decided at age 11 that I wanted to become a radio ham, but having first obtained my Masters in Procrastination, I took the test 44 years later on 2023-07-15 at Starbucks in Aurora, under the watchful eye of John Leonardelli VE3IPS.

I enjoy computer programming and have made this my job for the last 30 years or so. My programming language of preference is PHP - thus the callsign VA3PHP.

See me at QRZ and see my complete log at https://logs.classaxe.com

I have a keen interest in NDB chasing down on the LF navigation band 190 - 1750KHz, and produced a database of 17,000+ radio signals logged from over 1,200 locations worldwide. Loggings are added daily by volunteer editors in North America and Europe. The system gives a focus to three regions - North America, Europe and Worldwide and was written in PHP and Symfony in its current incarnation.
