Biography

Start on the radio hobby at age 27 (1982) and worked with the Red Cross of Costa Rica, many took the exam to get licensed Amateur Radio and also from remote areas inside the country, we managed communications with the support of amateur radio to the attention of emergency and disaster. My Godparents were TI4DOG and TI4VHL. Gradually I was dabbling in the world of DX and other modes supported by my cousin Luchy TI4ZLR.

For my service as a humanitarian worker for 40 years, my life has been very close to the radio hobby in earthquakes, hurricanes, tropical storms, refugee crisis in Central America and populations displaced by violence in Colombia, and always the radio and amateurs have been there, as friends, as brothers. As colleagues. 1984 DX pass to HF. For many years working with dipole antennas for 20 and 15 meters.

These 33 years have been beautiful and full of humanitarian activity out to the hobby radio. In this great hobby I have good friends in my country and in the world. Now I enjoy listening to the radio, DX and also in UVH and VHF.

Some think the hobby radio goes to die, but it did not happen, even today with many advances have combined new technologies with the traditions even today in disasters, emergencies and major humanitarian crises amateurs are present, serving alleviating human suffering and enjoying international friendship.

Inicie en la radio aficion a los 27 años (1982) como trabajaba en la Cruz Roja de Costa Rica, muchos hicimos el examen para sacar la licencia de Radioaficionados y asi desde zonas remotas del interior del pais, lograbamos comunicaciones con el apoyo de los radioaficionados, para la atencion de situaciones de emergencia y desastre. Mis Padrinos fueron TI4DOG y TI4VHL. Poco a poco fui incursionando en el mundo del DX y en otras modalidades con el apoyo de mi primo Luchy TI4ZLR.

Por mi servicio como trabajador humanitario por casi 40 años, mi vida ha estado muy cerca de la radio aficion en terremotos, huracanes, tormentas tropicales, crisis con refugiados en America Central y con poblaciones desplazadas por la violencia en Colombia, y siempre la radio y los radioaficionados han estado alli, como amigos, como hermanos. Como colegas. En 1984 pase a los DX en HF. Durante muchos años trabaje con antenas dipolo para 20 y 15 mts .

Estos 33 años han sido hermosos y llenos de actividad humanitaria de la mano a la radio aficion. En este grandiosos hobby tengo buenos amigos en mi pais y en el mundo. Disfruto la radio en la escucha, los DX y tambien en UVH y VHF.

Algunos piensan que la radio aficion va a morir, pero es no pasara, aun hoy con tantos avances, hemos logrado combinar las nuevas tecnologias con las tradiciones, aun hoy en los desastres, las emergencias y las grandes crisis humanitarias los radioaficionados estamos presentes, sirviendo, aliviando el dolor humano y disfrutando la amistad internacional.
