Biography

Hello, I'm Jarosław and I'm transmitting from Warsaw in Poland. My main interests are IT, aviation, sailing, music, amateur radio, mountain hiking and sport shooting.

Below is my retro style radio shack:

My introduction to amateur radio began with a RTL-SDR. Next was borrowed Uniden 2020 (1975) transceiver, a classic rig that offered me my first taste of the airwaves.

Soon after, I transitioned to using a Xiegu X6100 transceiver and I have obtained my amateur radio license. Then switched to a Yaesu FT-891, which is ideal for portable applications: Parks on the Air (POTA) and Summits on the Air (SOTA). I also use it in conjunction with digirig for FT8 transmissions. My love for mountain hiking has naturally led me to engage in SOTA activities.

Additionally, I am a user of WinLink, leveraging its capabilities for versatile digital communications. The ability to send and receive messages globally, irrespective of internet access, is a nice aspect of amateur radio. I am also an active user of APRS and LoRa networks.

I belong to the SP5POT club and the Polish Amateur Radio Union (PZK OT-37).

Looking forward to many more years of discovery, learning and sharing in the world of amateur radio.

Warm 73,

Jaroslaw SP5DNC.
