Hi dear radio friends HAM's & SWL's! My name is Laurens (nickname Lau) born in August 1985.
Proud father of two tough boys: Xavi (2014) and Vince (2017).
My background:
I'm interested in HAM radio since my younger years, when I made QSO's with scouts all over the world during the annual JOTA event. On the 12th of April 2006 I got my first callsign with my nickname in the suffix: PD9LAU. I was active with this callsign from October 2014 on HF till the 12th of April 2015. Logs are on eQSL, LotW & QRZ Logbook.
In March 2015 I passed the full licence exam and started using my new callsign PF3X on 13th of April that year. First QSO with EA4EN Miguel in CW mode. Every year I'm still active during the worldwide JOTA event at my former scout group 'Sint-Joris' in Breda. Till 2006 as scout, since then as one of the operators. We use the special callsign PA6SJB/J during the JOTA in October every year. I'am a Member of the Dutch VERON. I am a proud Floydian, that's why I choose the PF-prefix as it stands for Pink Floyd. My father-in-law, Kees, operates an active SWL-station as NL10743.
My interests:
At this moment mainly active on HF in digi modes. These are the ones I use:
BPSK31, BPSK63, BPSK125 & QPSK31, QPSK63, QPSK125
Domino & Contesti - Feld Hell - JT65/JT9/FT8/JS8/FT4
MFSK16 - OLIVIA 8/250 - RTTY - Thor 16, Throb & Throbx
Furthermore I sometimes operate in SSB and exceptional in CW. Normally I use the 10m till 80m band. No 160m band (except if I am a bit lucky tuning my FD-4). In spring & summer also 6m and 2m. New from 2019 is some contest activity with my contest callsign PF6X. I'll participate in digi modes and phone contests, always from the PF3X station.
My QSL policy:
Over 85% of the QSOs in my logbook are confirmed, ways to QSL our QSO:
LoTW: preferred method, uploaded several times a month.
eQSL (AG): I upload my logs several times a month to eQSL.cc (SWL cards also welcome).
QRZ Logbook & Clublog: uploaded several times a month, Clublog not regurarly.
Bureau: for QSOs till 31-12-2019: you can send your QSL or SWL card and they will be answered 100%
for QSOs from 1-1-2020: bureau is not supported, don't send your card, use direct or digital.
Direct: please send an email for my address, SAE with 2$ or 2€. No IRC.
Please save trees and use a digital QSL method.
The green QSL card is used from 2015-2017, the brown one from 2018-2019 and the purple version from 2020.
