Biography
Hi OM, YL, SWL or simply visitor!
Thanks for visiting my page :)
My name is Anton Draaisma and I live in Leeuwarden, which is in the northern part of the Netherlands. The Locatorcode is JO23ve, which makes it easier to find!
When I first got started with Radio, it was mainly FM DX-ing. The station KISS FM was one of the special ones I received via e-skip, from Madrid in Spain, over a 1000km. Later on, I borrowed a E4000 SDR dongle and got scanning the VHF/UHF bands. I did this using a home-made antenna from parts of coaxial cable in an open dipole configuration. It worked better than a whip-antenna, which actually was quite amazing in my eyes.
Learned a lot and upgraded to SDR-Play with a mini-whip antenna. The world of HF opened for me and I listened a lot to the amateur bands like 10/20/40m . I decided I wanted more so I started learning.
May 24th 2017, I have passed the Novice exam. My first real ham-call was PD4AD was approved by AT on June 19th. Quite a wait when you already know you've passed the test.
May 29th 2018, I have passed the Full licence exam and have changed my call from PD4AD to PC4AD on June 17th.
The AD in the suffix remark my initials, so I won't forget them ;-)
For SWL - please (e)QSL - your reports are greatly appreciated!
73 and hope to hear you on the bands soon.
