Biography
Born in Ghent (Belgium) October 5th 1948.
I am the happy father of five: Nicolas (47), Bruno (46), Martin (29), Celine (28), Victor (15).
I have studied mathematical economics (Ph.D. in 1980) and have taught economics and game theory at the University of Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve, 25 Km South of Brussels) since 1992. I am now Emeritus and still visiting professor at the University of Pisa.
I have previously held positions in various universities abroad, in particular one year in US (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign), 7 years in Florence (European University Institute), one year in Rotterdam (Erasmus Universiteit), and several years in France (University of Strasbourg and Nancy) and in Italy (University of Pisa).
I am passionate of electronics and radio since the age of 14 (as ONL04372) though I only got my first license in the 80's as IK5LPG and ON1KDV.
I am interested in all aspects of radio with a special interest in measurement and antennas. I like to build his own equipment. I am also interested in the mathematical study of dynamical systems and chaotic phenomenon in electronic circuits. I am a fan of Fourier analysis.
Equipment
presently QRV on HF with an Icom IC-7300, an ATU and a long wire or, weather permitting, a multiband vertical. Also QRV on 2m, 70cm and 23cm using an Icom IC-9700 and a vertical tri-band antenna. I am in charge of the beacon ON0VHF (2m, 70cm, 23cm, 13cm, 6cm, 3cm and 1.25cm) located on top of the Department of Physics of the University of Louvain.
