Biography
Since 1st January 2009 the Emergency Unit of the Czech Fire & Rescue Service has been formed in Hlučín. Former 157th Rescue Battalion of the Czech Army was incorporated to the FRS CR based on the Government Decision. During ten year unit expand to two new location, Zbiroh and Jihlava. Now it has more then 200 heavy vehicles and almost 250 employes.
The unit is designed to carry out long-term interventions in large-scale emergencies and help with special equipment. Over a decade Emergency unit has been involved in nearly 900 emergencies and almost 1000 other helps.
Main tasks and targets of Emergency unit of the FRS CR:
• Earth works (river-basin removal, communications unblocking etc.)
• Extrication of crashed or stuck vehicles
• Water pumping with high-capacity pumps
• Demolitions
• Decontamination of persons, equipment, material, and terrain
• Evacuation of people, transport of cattle and material
• Providing of emergency surviving to citizens
• Rescue and diving work in water
• Emergency supply with drinkable water, powers and humanitarian material
