Biography

I have been interested in radios for a long time. At the age of 9 a friend showed me a small CB- handheld radio and ever since then I have been involved in the hobby. Some years later my grandmother`s brother, who was a ham, showed me his CW-station. I remember this qso quite well.
He contacted Russia, which was still behind the Iron Curtain in the early 80s and ever since then I have been infected by the CW-virus!From that time on I wanted to be a CW-op!
Several years later I bought a receiver and listened to short wave regularly ,mainly on the BC-bands.My first receiver was a Philipps D-2999, then a Yaesu FRG-8800 and finally a Lowe HF-150,which I still own.
I´m still active as an swl, although many interesting stations are gone. In 1998 I got my licence and 2 years later I upgraded and passed the cw-exam.I also love sota and every now and then I take part in a contest.
Other interests include skiing, climbing, windsurfing,Karate, riding the motorbike, music and literature.
