| Biography I have licensed since 1991 under the first set of Non code Technician rules in the United States. My awards include DXCC, WAS, and WAC. As a member of the Ashtabula County Amateur Radio Club, I am active for Field Day as the Public Information Officer and prepare the club's entry. Additionally, I am a member of the local VE team and am dual certified by the W5YI VE and ARRL. Fortunately, I am married to a ham, Joan (N8YFF). Away from ham radio, I am a Master Mason and have served my lodge as Worshipful Master for 4 terms. Presently, I serve as the Excellent High Priest of my chapter of Royal Arch Masons. Equipment Our station includes several hand held VHF FM units, a Yeasu FT-450AT for HF and 6m, and 2 2meter mobile rigs (one in the shack and one in the car). The HF antennas are a ground mounted Hustler 5-BTV and a homebrew dipole for 40m at just under 10 meters with VHF discone mounted above the wire. The mobile feeds a 5/8 wave vertical mounted on the trunk lid. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
