Biography
Received vanity call N4SDN. Now I have a much shorter CW call.
New to amateur radio in 2016 but a long time SWL. Electronics trained 40 years ago in the USAF as a metrologist. 50 weeks in Denver tech school. Easy to pass the Technician and General tests but Extra has these new things called integrated circuits. Worked through that and the following month (April 2, 2016) I passes the Extra exam!
Worked DXCCs:
Equipment
Started with a Kenwood TS-450SAT running Ham Radio Deluxe driving a Zero-Five 10-80 meter vertical 43' antenna.
Dell Latitude 3590 computer with Windows 10 Pro driving a US Interface Navigator.
Now have a Yaesu FTdx-1200 also. Using a B&W VS-1500A antenna tuner for the antennas. Moved up to an AL-811H amplifier to complete my 100 country quest. Discovered FT8 and seldom use the amplifier now. Still working PSK and RTTY though.
