Biography

Built a Crystal Radio as a child. Medium Wave and Short Waves listening at night for many years. Fascinated by the vagaries of RF propagation, and the presentation of other cultures within their broadcasts. Finally got around to Amateur Radio licensing in 1982. Former calls: KA1IFY KB1FX K1OH. CW is still my favorite mode, but operate some SSB; WSPR; JT-64; and rarely PSK-31.

Bicycle touring is a favorite pastime. Have cycled in many or the US states, and most of the Canadian provinces. Sometimes have operated portable QRP.
