Biography
Hi,
My name is Adi 2W0SZR. Thanks for looking me up on QRZCQ.
I passed my foundation license on 10th September 2020 and was operating under the callsign MW7LAM and then on 14th January 2021 I passed my intermediate operating as 2W0SZR. On 12th July 2021 I finally managed to pass my full licence exam so now enjoying the extra Privileges operating as MW0SZR.
My shack consists of a Yaesu FTM300D connected into a Diamond X300N colinear antenna for use on 2metres and 70cms and for HF bands I use a ICom IC7100 along with a MAT 180H Tuner connected to a multi band end fed wire made by UK Antennas which is a advertised as the shortened version of the 80metre antenna. It is 22.5metres in length mounted in an inverted L configuration about 8 metres high around the back garden. The extra 2.5 metres and an inductance coil allow a section of the 80 metre band to be used without a tuner. It is also resonant on 40, 20, 15 & 10 metres.
I also own a Yaesu FT60 handheld so enjoy going portable whenever possible.
My QTH is in Queensferry Flintshire North Wales. I am located 6 miles west of city of Chester, 13 miles north of Wrexham, 20 miles from Liverpool, 42 miles from Manchester and 25 miles from Rhyl North Wales coast.
My location is not particularly high being 30m ASL. Coverage is good out to Merseyside, Cheshire and Greater Manchester but a bit limited South out to Wrexham and North Wales.
