Biography
Retired RailRoad Signal Supervisor for western Montana subdivision
Started ham again in 2010 after waiting about 35 years for the right time and place and this is it. Originally got a novice ticket back in 1981, built a complete Heathkit station but never got on the air until 2010.
I live in a small cabin in the Salish mountains near the top of Hill Meadows area which is about 13 miles west of Whitefish. Beautiful spot to put up antennas and enjoy retirement. Lots of wildlife and trees. See my qrz.com page for details.
I enjoy some ssb, but like the digital modes the best, Jt65, V4, and all the other digital modes on the waterfall. Recently I have been practicing cw and have made a few contacts with that mode. I can manage 10 wpm now and usually work on it daily.
I use a Vibroplex Iambic keyer, works great.
