Greetings from Long Island!I am about 40 miles/64 kilometers east of New York city on the north shore of Long Island in the town of Huntington.
I am an Assistant Emergency Coordinator and Deputy Radio Officer (AEC/DRO) for the Suffolk county, New York, town of Huntington's Amateur Radio Emergency Service and Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (ARES/RACES) group as well as an ARRL Official Emergency Station (OES). All amateur operators are welcome to check into our Monday night net at 19:00 hours (Eastern) on the WR2ABA repeater at 147.210 Mhz, +600 offset, 136.5 PL as well as our 10 meter portion of the net on odd days of the month on 28.420 Mhz +/- 5 Khz. I am also a board member of The Larkfield Amateur Radio Club, a member of the Straight Key Century Club (SKCC#9380) and the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). I operate mostly on HF/VHF and UHF using CW, SSB, FM and sometimes AM. I am currently active on 2,10,12,15,17,20,30 and 40 meters, 70cm, as well as satellite. I love working DX and digital modes such as PSK-31, MT63, Olivia and Packet. I am also setting up a mesh network node in my area. My rigs and antennas are a Kenwood TS-930S, TS-430S, TM-281A and a Swan Cygnet 270B. Antennas: Cushcraft MA6V vertical and a Diamond X50A vertical.
