Biography

Wn4APX 1961, WA4APX, AB4WC and now K7DT
Have gone from nice tower with 3 element tribander and 2 meter moonbounce to a very simple setup using an IC705 manual antenna tuner and home made wire antennas.

I have a stack of QSL cards from days gone by including one from W5AL, moonbounce.

Made most contacts using 1 watt cw back when the sunspot activity was high.

Weak signal with FT8 is amazing and that bug has bitten here even though it took awhile to warm up to it.

Live in an HOA community but running low power and wire antennas no-body has a clue.

My current antenna is 44ft of black #16 wire in a delta loop, V configuration bottom feed with a 10 ft of RG6 running to my tuner. Using 10watts I've worked around the world in a short time on my new favorite band 30 meters.

Looking forward to each day as the sunspots pick up so will the ham radio fun.

I have to say there has already been many bands openings. Quiet low noise strong signals.

Happy Ham.

73 to all look for you on the air. Don
