Biography

Originally licensed in 1949. I have held the K6CSL Call since Sept. 1957.

Equipment

My Rig is a matched pair of Yaesu FT-450AT Transceivers. I live in a mobile home park that allows no "visible" antennas. My antenna system is comprised of a 40M Diamond shaped Delta Loop that is radially mounted to the back wall of my mobile home. Antenna #2 is an Indoor Coaxial Dipole that runs the length of the center ceiling beam of the mobile home. Antenna #3 is a Horizontal Square Loop that is mounted on the peripheral ceiling of the radio room. It is fed with RG58X coax to a balun. The loop is fed in the Southwest corner and provides about 3db of gain towards OC,VK and ZL. Antenna #4 is a stealth End-Fed wire that runs from the Northwest corner eaves of the house to a grey painted 20ft mast attached to the back fence, hidden by a tree. All 4 four antennas are fed from separate MFJ-949E tuners such that once tuned on a band I can switch between antennas without having to retune. This is especially helpful in contests. I contest for the Northern California Contest Club and the Mother Lode DX & Contest Club. I also do some DXing and have recently achieved DXCC. I hope to see you on the bands. Bert, K6CSL
