Biography
Born in Kansas City, MO, in August 1935.
First licensed at age 25, with many years of bootlegging before being licensed.
Being a bachelor I married, first and only time, at 40.
The wedded bliss lasted 14 years at which time her mother died and left her most of a million dollars, then she filed for a divorce, moved with her paramour to the state of Washington.
We have been divorced for over 23 years and, in all due respect, I still miss HIM!
The definition of a bachelor is a man who never made the same mistake ONCE!
Now retired after, I moved from Addison (TX) to Lake Texoma and now live in a rural unincorporated community where I can have my 185 foot tall, Rohn SSV series tower, courtesy of the State of Texas Health Department.
At 2012 Ham Comm, held in Plano (TX), I purchased a pristine Heathkit SB-104A for the paltry sum of $5.00. It needed a few minor repairs and it drives my Clipperton "L" to about 700 Watts.
My other rig, is an Icom 775DSP, which was bequeathed to me by W5HDM (SK).
I inherited most of W5HDM's ham equipment as I have from several other hams (SKs).
I have operated a 2 Meter repeater, 146.610, in Carrollton (TX) since 1973.
I provide a marine band repeater on marine channel 20 which serves the U.S.
Coast Guard flotillas in our area, the first so authorized in the US.
Life is good and I drive each Sunday to Frisco (TX) {120 miles round trip} to attend services at Stonebriar Community Church, pastored by "Chuck" Swildoll, who
served as the President to Dallas Theological Seminary for many years.
May God richly bless each person who reads this.
Pray for the Peace of Israel.
Maranatha,
Steve
