Biography

At 55 years young, I got a very late start into ham radio, having gotten my Technician ticket in September of 2011. I upgraded in November 2011 and currently working on my Extra ticket studies. I am also struggling on learning CW and currently at about 5 wpm. I have truely enjoyed my new hobby and only wish that I had done this years ago, but there was never really a need or desire.

I am retired from the fire department and currently work as a Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator which is why I got interested in ham radio.

Equipment

Currently I am using an Icom 718 with a homebrew hexbeam that is set up for 6-20m and a G5RV for 40 and 80. I am constantly trying to improve my station and probably will be doing so for next many years.
