Biography
Hello Hams, my name is Alvaro Gómez.
I'm RadioAmateur from 9 years old. From that time I was operating with my father Álvaro Gómez Orduz on a Grundig transmitter, teaching me CW, Q Code, hearing weather bureau trafic, learning electronics and fixing radios. He was radio telegraphist licensed first class and radioamateur like HK3ATA past time. Now he is retired, but I am part of this interesting and amazing service.
My first years at radio activities I built my own first transmitter, but now with technology, this habit has been lost.
I'm member of: American Radio Relay League "ARRL", Activity Group of Belarus "AGB" (Member # 331), Croatian Telegraphy Club "CTC" (Member # 2896), Russian CW Club "RCWC" (Member # 993), A1 CW Club (Member # 3582), True Blue DXers Club "TBDXC" (Member # 951), Diplome Interessen Gruppe "DIG" (Member # 6441), CW Juiz de Fora Group "CWJF" (Member # 960), Fists CW Club "FISTS" (Member # 17799), Straight Key Century Club "SKCC" (Member # 6807), Activity Group CW DL "AGCW-DL" (Member # 4212), & Professional Radio Operators CW Club "Pro-CW-Club" (Member # 155).
I like telegraphy, to do good radio broadcasting, and building and testing antennas. I have radios like FT-747 and FT-840 from Yaesu, and TS-430S from Kenwood on my rig.
I'm Technician in Maintenance of Heavy Equipment for Mining (and SuperHeavy Equipment Operator) from The Cerrejon North Zone Coal Mining (placed at the middle of La Guajira), Technologist in Industrial Electronics with oilfield experience & Electronic Engineer. Now I work with labs management, teaching students, and researching, like Head of Electrical & Electronics Labs. at La Salle University on Bogotá D.C., Col.
