Biography
I have been active since 1982, participating in VHF and UHF contests and engaging in extensive mobile operations.
Now that shortwave operation is possible without CW proficiency, I have become an HF enthusiast. In addition to conducting daily schedules to assess conditions, I occasionally contribute points during contests to test my station's capabilities. After several years on HF, I've formed two personal opinions:
"If evolution had intended for us to communicate in CW, it wouldn't have given us voices." If this statement bothers you, it's best to move on, as you're likely missing the point.
"The pile-up howlers who can't even hear the responding station!" Such immature behavior is appalling to me.
Several times a year, we organize Field Nights at a local barbecue spot to enjoy QRP operations, aiming to contact all continents in a single night. Naturally, we also keep the barbecue going to ensure our meat is well-grilled and our wine bottles are emptied.
Engaging in a quality QSO in SSB is enjoyable, especially when it allows for the exchange of personal details beyond the standard report. I prefer straightforward 59 exchanges when participating in contests or pursuing a DX expedition.
