Biography

Hello,

I am F4FFD, Dominique, and I am located in Seine-et-Marne (french departement, Grid: JN18is).

After starting early (at 15 years old) with radio transmissions and like many others on the 11m band from 1986 to 1998 (a nod to my buddy Willy / FR4AW with whom we made our first QSOs together), I obtained the F4 certificate in May 2006 even though I no longer had a radio station at home. It was simply a challenge to get that piece of paper that I had dreamed of since adolescence.

After that, I stopped doing radio but it didn't stop me from having an interest in this field, including SDR, V-UHF, DMR, ADS-B beacons, and Raspberry Pi. You will discover my little hobbies on my personal website if aviation beacons interest you.

Having been away from my HF hobbies for quite a long time (1998-2024), I am finally back (May 2024) thanks to FR4AW who is lucky enough to live on IOTA AF-016.

I upload my logbook on EQSL.CC, HRDLOG.NET, QRZ.COM and QRZCQ.COM

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

Transceiver: YAESU FT710 AESS. It can deliver 100w but I strive not to exceed 40w. I really like QRP and I trust the propagation to do the rest. I tell myself that if a call doesn't go through, it will go through another day.

Antenna: 5-band Dipole GUOHETEC V-200 (40m, 20m, 15m, 10m, and 6m) bought on Aliexpress :)
This dipole with telescopic elements gives me pretty good results on 40m and 20m
