Biography

Born on January 4, 1948 in a small village in the north of Moldova.
For me Radio is not just a hobby, it's a big part of my life, my first love, which accompanies me since the early 50's.

As a five year old boy, I was fascinated by a little box with some details, making sounds. In 1961, I began attending classes at the Chisinau Palace of Pioneers, unfortunately it was only for one year.

When I returned to the village, I continued to study independently and after several unsuccessful attempts to build and align a transceiver by myself , I couldn´t finish the project due to lack of experience and by being unable to find some of the parts, but in 2002 I succeeded building a simple three band QRP transceiver. In 2003, I got my first call - ER4BAU and since 2006 it is ER4LX.

As a sports coach, I have been primarily interested in amateur competitions. Already in 2005, in the national team of the Association of Amateur Radio Moldova I participated in the IARU Championship operating from my neighbor Basil ER4DX. This was the first time I operated with a modern transceiver and a good antenna.

I am very pleased and proud. that I won several international competitions from more than 200 in which I took part. I also mastered CW after 65 years, one of my achievements in Morse Runner is 28276 points and speed 377 CPM, for 3 and a half years does not really feel bad.

Now I have a lot of free time and I am pleased to participate in contests, hunt DX stations or just feel happy to be able to communicate with my friends on the bands.
Thank you for attention .
Best 73 too all !
