| Biography Hello! From Athlone,in the "Heart of Ireland",south of Lough Ree on the Majestic River Shannon.I have been on the air since the early 70's. My main station consists of the Ten-Tec OrionII 566AT. OM-HF Amp,Johnson KW Match Box Tuner.PalstarDL5K. Drake TR7,Drake L7 and Drake MN2700 Tuner .My Antenna's are a 204ft Inverted V fed with 450ohm Ladder Line, N/NE to S at 55ft. A Homebrew 33 ft Vertical for 40m to 10m at 20ft above ground . On VHF a Yaesu FT1802E and WatsonW-50Vertical at 55 ft. At the family Lakeside QTH (see below) on the shores of Lough Ree to the north of Athlone I am QRV from time to time with a /P station , Antenna's which are still work in progress are a 80m Super Loop , a Gap Voyager Dx Vertical for 160,80,40,20m. When mobile in my Pajero 4x4 I run a Yaesu FT857D and the antennas are a Atas 120a for 40m to 10m and for 80m a Watson WHF80B also a Watson 160m trapped whip and Dimond HF80FX whip and a LDG YT 100 Auto Tuner .Retired now I can be found most days on 80m (3.650 and 3.780)and on some of the other HFbands 20m (14.220) or 17m (18.130) .
