Biography
A refreshed Ham since 1991, after twelve years of dormance on this hobby, I resumed QSOs after acquiring 4th class(now upgrade to 3rd)license in Taiwan. Call sign was BM2JAM since 2007.
In July 2015, I have upgraded to the 2nd Class License equivalent to General Class in the US.
I am enthusiastic not only in ham operation but also other forms of communication especially combining the RF with the Internet protocol. I have installed the interface for Echolink and had it up and running almost daily.
I decide to conduct more HF Dx starting from 2015 after the license was upgraded to have more HF bands privilege. On top of the HF upgrade, in Dec. 2016 I was able to start setting up DMR operation with the Openspot gateway, access to local DMR repeaters and MMDVM, I have sevral DMR HTs includingTYT MD-380/MD-390 , Motorola SL1M and Anytone UV868/878 sd well as D578UV, I usually checked in TG 31077(PAPA Chat) and other US TG for monitorng and QSOs. My home TG is 46600 at Taipei. DMR became the chief companion to me when I mobile or travel.
I also just upgraded my HF antenna to Diamond CP-6S after several years of use with the early version of CP-6 now engaged much on the digital mode communication mainly on FT-8. My HF rigs are Yaesu FT-897D and FT-991.
You are welcomed to call me on Echolink at Node#6688 at BX2AEK-L, my DMR ID is 4661028 and let us share our own stories on HAM.
