Biography

God Fearing, Husband, Grandfather of 16, Father of 5, Disabled/Retired (COA:2018) Military Doorkicker who happens to be a Ham since 4 Feb 2023. Did a lot with Radio in the U.S. Air Force as a Security Policeman/Security Forces SNCO. But it was alway considered a mission support tool. Little "Joy" was gleaned from it's use unless it was to save lives, which was often my primary useage. Much of what I used is on my QRZ.com page, so I'll not delve into it here. Since, becoming a Ham, I am enjoying it immensely, much more than I thought I would. I was a little "Meh" at first especially since I was trying to tease out conversation over local repeaters in Central Missouri. Folks were nice but it just wasn't much more than Hello/Chat/Goodbye. But then I dove headlong into HF and never looked back. My favorite Ham Activity is attending the High Frequency Activity Group, a.k.a. https://hfqso.com/ whenever I can, which is most days. It's faster paced and requires continual interaction rather than playing Headcount Attendance Hall Monitor over the radio, which most Nets seem to be. This is a Hobby so it is supposed to be FUN! Other than that, since we are full-time RVers, Parks on the Air (POTA) is my second favorite sector of Ham World. Third is DXing. Glad you stopped by and have a great Ham Day!
