Biography
I started off in radio as a SWL back in the late 1970s when my Father had an Eddystone receiver in the shed. He got me hooked when he managed to acquire a large and heavy Racal R107 receiver for me. This was attached to a random length of wire stretched down the garden.
The next step was with CB radio, running a Cobra 148 and Midland 4001. Sigma IV and a 3 - element beam. This was the setup throughout the 1980s, and resulted in many good DX contacts throughout Europe and the USA.
A break from radio followed until 2018, when Foundation licences were obtained for myself and my son (M7GLJ).
Intermediate call obtained 25/03/2023 - thanks to all the course trainers at NADARS.
Hope to catch you soon, 73.
