AMATEUR BIO: First lincensed in 1964 as WN8QBW. First station was a BC454 receiver with a home brew power supply and a Globe Scout transmitter along with 3 crystals and a 80 meter dipole. The station grew to a Heath Comanche receiver and DX40 along with the addtion of a 40 meter dipole and a homebrew 2 element 15 meter beam. By the end of my novice year I had upgraded to a Heath DX60B and a Mohawk receiver. As a new General with a new call I added a Heath Apache and SB10 to the Mohawk along with the XC6 & XC2 converters and a Heath Senaca for 6 & 2. The antenna farm grew to a TA33SR & Mosley A76S for 6 meters, a year later the Heath Warrior was added and I replaced the TX1 & SB10 for the Maurder. I felt I had put together the ultimate station until Drake introduced the T4XB & R4B several years later. I sold everything and purchased a brand new Drake line along with a Hy Gain 2 element Hy Quad and with the warrior sold purchased a Swan MKII. The HY Quad & Swan MKII are still used in my current station.
