Biography
Originally licensed since 1968 as KL7GHS. Held callsign KG6EXF before present callsign. Active in Sitka Alaska, SF Bay Area in California, Eastern Washington. Presently located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Active mostly on VHF/UHF and microwave bands. On HF, mostly on PSK-31. Present capability from 3.5 Mhz to 28 Mhz HF and 50 Mhz all bands to 24 Ghz. I compete in V/UHF contests mostly as a rover, always carrying 6 bands, sometimes more.
I enjoy building V/UHF antennas and rover support equipment.
Member of Pacific Northwest VHF Society, Pensylvania/Ohio DX Association 070 Club, and Albuquerque DX Association.
Equipment
Radios: Elecraft primary radios. Kenwood 50 and 144 radios for IFs. Various Elecraft, DEMI and DB6NT transverters for V/UHF and microwave bands.
Antennas: 80/40 Butternut vertical and various wires for HF. W5WVO 5 element for 50 Mhz, M^2 7 wavelength yagis for 144 and 222 Mhz. Antennas for 432, 902, 1296 and up are homebrew, based on designs from K1FO, G3JVL and others. Homebrew horns are used for 5.7, 10.368 and 24 Ghz.
