Biography

GREETINGS FROM THE CHIPPEWA NATIONAL FOREST IN MINNESOTA

The town of Marcell is located on the National Scenic Byway HWY 38 in the Chippewa National Forest in Northern Minnesota. Both the town of Marcell and North Star campground are located North of The Laurentian Divide so all the rivers flow north. to the Canadian Boarder. This is the 13th season as a Volunteer for the US Forest Service. The County is Itasca.
The Minnesota Address is my FCC address and is good all year. In the Summer I host the North Star Camp Ground on HWY38 (EN37en). The shack is in the front half of my Scamp trailer. In winter I live in a Finnish-Style log cabin built in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps as the Ranger’s Home for the Marcell District it is Listed the National Register of Historic Buildings. The cabin is located on a small ridge (1451 elevation) overlooking Rainier lake (EN37do). In the winter I work as a Volunteer in the Visitors Center.

I have a DXCC mixed (125) and CW(115). A WAS Mixed, CW, and 40 Meters . I am actively chasing the FFMA with 355 Grids. My VUCC count is 375 grids verified on 6. I am an active most contests
I am APRS active using Kenwood TH-D7(G) and a Garmin GPS as W6GMT-9

I am a Member of ARRL, Northern Lights Radio Society, SKCC # 4774C, Ten -Ten # 74931.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

The HF setup is a Yaesu FT-950 we work only CW on 80,40 and 15 the antennas for 80,40 and 15 meters are inverted VEE's. I work 10 meters and 6 meters both SSB and CW the 10 meter antenna is a home built rotatable dipole and for 6 meters I have a KMA5054 Log.

For 2 Meter weak signal work I have a Kenwood TM-255A feeding A Mirage amp the antenna is from M2.

I do some FM satellite work with my Kenwood TH-D7G and an Elk Log.

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
