Biography
I received my Technician license in 2006, upgrade to General in 2008 and then completed my Amateur Extra in 2013.
I'm President and webmaster for the Jupiter Lighthouse Radio Group (JLRG,) located in Jupiter, FL. Be sure to check out the club's website where you can find our members, local nets and the activities we're involved in. http://www.jlrg.org. The group is focused on the implementation and support of a permanent radio station at the Jupiter Lighthouse, N4NAQ, to continue the history of radio operations at the site which began in the early 1900s.
Additionally, we're involved in a number of field deployments for special events as well as supporting the community by volunteering our services as Amateur Radio Operators.
I received the ARRL's A-1 Operator award in 2008, participated with the team that activated Peanut Island (FL479S) as a US Island which we re-activate each year on JFK's birthday (http://peanutisland.jtrg.org.) We also activated the Jupiter Lighthouse for the ILLW event (http://lighthouse.jtrg.org.)
In addition to phone, I also enjoy operating digital modes: BPSK-31, Contestia, Olivia, RTTY, etc. on all bands
For things outside of Amateur Radio, there's my family, work in the field of IT Sales, and an assortment of sport/hobbies including SCUBA diving, bicycling, motorcycling, vegetable garden, and keeping up with my son with all that he's got going on.
If you are or will be visiting North Palm Beach, be sure to check the club's website calendar and join in at a meeting or one of our events.
