Biography
First licensed as WN4BQF in 1952. Started using CW then and am very active CW operator today.
Widowed with a daughter and twin boys. My daughter has been living in Paris, France for 14 years and is a European economics reporter for the IHT and the New York Times. One son recently retired from the US Navy (2011) and is now driving an 18-wheeler. His brother works at two marina's in Jacksonville, Fla. While I was born and raised in Valdosta, Ga., for 36 years I lived in the Washington DC area.
I retired in 2003 after suffering a severe stroke, but have completely recovered. I spent 11 years in the US Navy as an aviation electronics tech, spent some 20 years as a microwave circuit and systems designer and spent 4 years as Director of Microwave Engineering for a Washington DC based electronics company. I then spent 15 years working for the FDA as a computer network analyst.
Upon retirement I moved to south Georgia and purchased a 15 acre home site, with a 250 acre large mouth bass pond abutting my property (;>)).
