Biography

I have been on the Air most of my life :)
I started out when I was about 7 years old when my father bought my brother and I a Radio shack base station for CB. After he installed the antenna on the sixth floor of our building we got the bug. Then after moving to Long Island years later in 1986 I started the novice coarse and learned 5 wpm in CW but I never finished the course to get licensed. And it wasn't until 2008 that I passed my first test and got my tech license. But I wanted to be on the lower HF bands to be able to follow my friends and talk DX around the world. So a month later I took the General exam and received the General license.

I enjoy all bands from HF VHF and UHF. Below are pictures of my shack and the gear in it. You can find me on 80 and 40 meters for rag chew and the upper HF bands for DX. Chasing DX is one of the reasons I love radio. I also belong to a local 2 meter simplex club.

I have many radios to choose from. Each one has a purpose for use. They all do certain things better then another might. This is one of the things that attracts me to ham radio. The radios themselves are amazing to me.I love the idea of speaking into a microphone and having the radio send that transmission and bring me back a response from someone clear across the earth. It has fascinated me since I was a young boy. I wish I had the money to buy all of the new modern radios they have available today. If nothing else. I have something to work for :)

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
