Biography
My name is Sergey.
I was born in 1949 in Western Siberia (Tyumen region) - at that time the USSR.
After school, he studied at the Tyumen Radio Club with a degree in wireless telegraph.
Then there were two years of military service in the Far East, near the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur in the air defense radio-technical troops, a class 1 wireless telegraph operator.
Then he came to work as a radio operator in the Far North of the Tyumen region, where he received the amateur callsign UA9KAA. At that time, on my short-wave radio station of the 2nd category, I used a "Krot" radio receiver and a homemade transmitter with two GU-50 radio tubes in the output stage.
In 1975, after moving to the current QTH (the small town of Pervomaisky, 80 km south of Kharkov), received the callsign UB5LEW (also later UB4LE). I used a UW3DI transceiver (100 watts' output) and simple antennas - such as Inverted Vee and Ground Plane to work on air.
Several times he traveled with equipment to his native land, from where he worked as R9/UT2LA, UA3ZAF/9, RA/UT2LA.
Twice I enjoyed the call of UT2LA/P from the top of Ai-Petri Mountain (Crimea).
In 2013 he visited Belarus (Minsk), five days was active as EW/UT2LA.
Currently I work on the air on HF bands callsign UT2LA.
Despite the simple equipment, over half a century of work on the air, more than 70 000 radio communications have been conducted with more than 300 countries on the DXCC list.
On the air almost daily. I work exclusively by telegraph on all HF bands.
