Biography

My name is Ryszard. I received my First Class License in 1971. The first QSO using SP6AKL sign was done with SP9EQS - my namesake from Jaworzno, Poland. During the first 10 years I established thousands of QSOs with over hundred countries throughout the world. The most interesting QSO I've made was JY1 King Hussein I of Jordan. At that time I worked on the homemade equipment. 10 years later the Polish communist authorities confiscated the equipment and licenses to all Polish radio amateurs indicating martial law. From 1985 to 1997 my activity was limited to the 3.5 MHz and 145 MHz bands. In 2012 I decided to return to my hobby. Privately I am a journalist and cameraman in a local Prudnik Cable Television program.

Equipment

Currently I have a Yaesu FT 950 and FT 1900 transceivers and antennas: a Vertical GP7DX and a Long Wire.
