Equipment

Rig: Yaesu FT-857D.

I like to experiment with HF digital modes and homebrew antennas: A vertical antenna of variable length which is easily tuned to one of the higher bands (20m-6m) using my flat almost square metal roof as a ground plane. Usually, I configure my vertical for λ/4 resonance, but in Spring 2016 I started playing with 5λ/8 verticals also. Sometimes I use a Sandpiper MV-6+3 shortened multi band vertical instead. In the backyard there is an inverted vee dipole for 80m/30m (which also happens to work for 160m, at least for European QSOs) and above my metal roof there is an horizontal eve-shaped wideband folded dipole for 40m.

For operation with portable rigs on UHF (70cm) and X-Band (3cm), I use the call sign OE1VMC/p or OE1XTU.

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
