Biography

Previous calls: Novice: WN4MLY (1974) in Clarksville, TN; General: WB4MLY (1974-1979); DA1AQ (1976-1979) in Idar-Oberstein and Bad Homburg vor der Höhe (Ober Erlenbach); Advanced: KB4VW (1979-2011) in Clarksville; DA1SB (1983-1986) in Goeppengen and Kaiserslautern; Amateur Extra: ND3H (2011-2021) in Pensacola, FL.

I am currently involved with the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) supporting the Escambia Emergency Operations Center (EOC). I am also in the Communication Command with the Escambia Search and Rescue (ESAR).

Equipment

Kenwood TS-590S with a Mosley Classic 33 at 47'/14.3m, or a G5RV at 37'/11.3m (NW-SE) or a 80m & 40m dipoles at 44'/13.4m (N-S) all as inverted vee. I use a LDG600PROII AutoTuner with the wire antennas. For 6m operations I use a 3 element beam at 25'/7.6m.

Yaesu FT-7900 for 2m/70cm using with a Cushcraft AR-270B at 52'/15.8m. My HT is a Kenwood TH-D72. Also have Wouxun KG-UV6D for ham and Public Service (ESAR) bands use.
