Biography
Hello all.
Thanks for visiting. I have been a ham since 1979 and now have a chance to enjoy the hobby after raising kids and whatnot. I have been a Heathkit SB series enthusiast and have a series undergoing a very slow restoration. I have enjoyed chasing DX and the sheer fun of a pile up. My preferred bands are 80m 40m and 20 but working on spending more time on 160, 6 and 2.
Since I travel to Brazil on occasion, I try to get on the air from there. I have used an FT857 and a long wire with reasonable success.
Other hobbies include military trucks and have once owned a unimog. Currently the big truck in the stable is a 1986 Ford C-800 427 with 5spd and 2spd differential.
