Biography

Hi,worked some great stations on my 10 watts.
My old man was in the Royal Signals during the Korean war so most of my interest in electronics and radio came from him.

SWL for years so when i found out about getting a licence I jumped at it. Photography has been a real passion for me but taken a back step since I became licensed, see some of my photography on google search images also has some more history about myself.

Love the science in the hobby I have always wanted to know how and why things do what they do and take nothing for granted.Another passion is astronomy infact it was trying to listen to the sun and planets that got me back into radio.I have a solar scope and the images from the sun are mind blowing if you ever get a chance to take a look through one do it, it's fantastic.

Alot of my shack has come from stuff I had in the attic in my house just sitting doing nothing , that's all changed now for sure. Garden looks like an antenna farm .My neighbors are great people and help me put things up/down as I have health issues and could not do so on my own.

I'm thinking of fitting a web cam to my solarscope and going online with it so others can see the fantastic images captured.
I also may take my next step up with the U.K. licence 2e0 ...but must say im very pleased with the results I get from only 10w .

I play around with sdr stuff also which includes winradio 303i , winradio 305e , Icom pcr1000 ,funcube , cross country sdr experimental version , and a Lazydog ( i don't rate this sdr or support for customers )
The pcr1000 is very easy and does a great job ,so if you ever get chance to pick a second hand one up go for it.

take care
