Biography

LA5ITA Jan Erik Simonsen

I got my radio amateur license on February the 29, 2012. My interests of radio started when I got my first walkie talkie with 100 mw output power, then I was 14 years of ages.
I have also been active as an SWL for many years with my Kenwood R-5000.

I am married to Elizabeth and we have 2 children.

We live in a appartment house in Rygge. So antenna possibilities are not so good.

I have had my job at Sigma Electrical Engineering for 25 years as a test controller, with the electronics. The firm supplied electronic control for load forklift, electric cars, heavy chargers and aircraft starters. Later

I worked as a low voltage technician at Storm / Bravida El, and in recent years at Sector Alarm as a centralwarehouse manager for Sector Alarm Norway.
Now I am retired.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

My radio equipment is: IC 7300, Yaesu FT-991, TYT MD 9600 DMR, Anytone D578 and Anytone AT 868 DMR

My antennas is a 5/8 wave Diamond for the 6m, 70cm and 145 mhz, Spider windom 7 - 50 mHz and a dipole for the 80m.
