Biography

Hello, and thanks for stopping by the shack!!!

My name is Darin and I was born in Dickinson, North Dakota in 1966. I now live in Tacoma, Washington at grid square CN87tc near the foothills of the Cascade mountain range with Mt. Rainier as a backdrop. I received my technician license on 1-24-2012 and upgraded to general on 2-19-2013. I share the "radio room" with my Wife, Terresa (KG7EUR), and our Granddaughter, Ashlynn (KG7EUQ), both receiving their licenses on 8-2-2013. I like to work DX and special event stations and I really enjoy a good "ragchew". I like to operate on 20, 17, 15, 12, 10, 6, and 2 meters/70 centameters.

My other interests (besides wearing out my radios) include digital photography, metal detecting, camping, ghost towning, the occasional road trip to nowhere, and home brewing (building) antennas.

I'm a current member of the W7DK - Radio Club of Tacoma (#2545). I also hang out a lot on the WIN System and the W7AAO repeater, and on simplex, I can be found on 146.580 and 146.520. I can also be found on EchoLink as well as IRLP Node #7110 (W7DK).
