Biography

I grew up in San Antonio, TX and moved to Boerne when I was 19. Was a volunteer Firefighter and a Paramedic. Met my wife while I was teaching her class, she passed away 2 years ago in January, Lived near Memphis for 16 years and have moved back to Texas near Gatesville, I'm 6'7" tall and all Texan, Spent most of my life in the field working on servers, networks, computers, etc. I now work on Bank equipment: ATM's, counters, tube systems, etc. But, just an old country boy at heart.

Received my first radio license when I was 18, CB, when it was $20 and good for 5 years.

Sorry the FCC deregulated the 11 meter band.

There was a gentleman who lived down the block from me in San Antonio, and inspired me to get my license.

He was an Amateur operator as well as C.B.

I've wanted to do this for 40 years, and I finally had the time to do it, received my Technician license, passed my General exam, and now studying for the Extra.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

Currently have a Kenwood TM V71 dual band, and a Icom IC-718.
Running a long wire and a 10 meter vertical ground plane.
