Biography

Began as a Novice (KA7EBG) in 1979, General (N7CDH) in 1980, Advanced (KD7DH) in 1982 & Extra (NC7K) in 1983. Went on my first DXPEDITION for the ARRL DX CW & SSB contests in 1986 (A35WZ). Granted for the Vanity call (K7XC) in 1989.

Very avid HF/VHF Contester & DXer since the early 80s. Very fortunate to have been taught the finer points of both by the likes of KF7E, WA7UTM, K7MI, NW7O, VE7BQH, K6KLY, K6MYC, K6ZM, and many others from NCCC... Thank you all!

January 5th 2018 we lost one of the smartest men I have ever known, Dave Gmur - KA7VLL. He mentored me in electronics from the early 1970s, helping me earn my General, Advanced, & Extra class Licenses as well as my changing professions in 1999 after 22 years as a journeyman level printer, to that of an entry level electronics technician for which I will be eternally grateful. I miss him daily and wish he was here to share in all the triumphs of my life as he helped me more than he ever knew. Dave - KA7VLL, a SK at 65.
